Report on the 88th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society (JCS2024) (March 8-10: Kobe)
Dates : March 08 (Fri.) – 10 (Sun.), 2024
Venue : Kobe International Exhibition Hall No. 2, Kobe, Japan
NCBN booth was exhibited at the 88th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society with the cooperation of NCVC Biobank.
The NCBN booth was located right in front of the poster exhibition in Hall 2, and the Tohoku University booth was set up in the back. (Thank you very much for your cooperation for 3 days.)
In Hall 2, there were three oral lecture halls, one large and one small, and there were many people who came to see the lectures standing up.
Not only doctors and companies, but also many clinical technologists and nurses attended the conference, giving it a lively atmosphere. In addition, since this year’s conference was held including the Asian region, there were many overseas groups, and many sessions were held in English.
Since the NCBN booth was located near the poster exhibition area, a considerable number of people gathered in front of the NCBN booth during the poster sessions. The following is a photo of the poster session in front of the NCBN booth, which shows that a great number of people were interested in the poster session.
More than 20 people visited the booth on the first day. 51 people visited the booth during the three days, and 22 people responded to our questionnaire.
Some people told us that they had never heard of the Biobank, which was reflected in the results of the questionnaire. Some of them knew about NCBN, which naturally makes us happy.
However, we reaffirmed that the awareness of NCBN is still low, and we will do our best to make everyone aware of NCBN in the next fiscal year.
Since this is a cardiovascular society, many people talked about specimens such as hearts and blood vessels, but there were also those who sought out obstetrics and gynecology-related tissues such as placentas, and we were able to tell them that we have them in the NCVC and NCCHD.
We believe that NCBN’s strength lies in its ability to introduce such specimens in areas that are relevant to other specialties as well.
We would like to express our gratitude to the NCVC for their support and cooperation in our booth display at the 88th Annual Meeting of the Cardiovascular Society, which was a great success. Thank you very much.
Summary of this year’s booth exhibition activities
We exhibited at seven conferences this fiscal year and found that biobanks themselves are not so well known. We explained at the booth that not only physicians but also researchers from companies and universities can use the biobank, but it is still not widely known, so we need to inform people that they can use the biobank by clearly stating it on our website and posters. A common question at all the conferences where we exhibited our booth was how to apply, the conditions of use, and the cost of using the system. Probably all researchers and companies want to know about these questions, so we need to consider them within NCBN and try to answer them clearly.
By exhibiting at the booth, we were able to hear various opinions directly from researchers and companies about their ideas, necessary samples and information, and we were also able to confirm areas where NCBN is lacking. This was a year in which we felt the importance of publicity, as it has not yet led to a significant increase in NCBN’s visibility. We will continue to develop our booth and strengthen our PR activities.
We look forward to seeing you again at the conference.
