カナダ・ケベック州のGenome Québec理事長Dr. LandryがNCBNの見学に来られました
Dr. Landry, President and CEO of Genome Québec, Canada, visited NCBN

4月11日（木）にカナダ、ケベック州のGenome Québecの理事長Dr.LandryがNCBNに見学に来られました。
今回は中央バイオバンク事務局があるNCGMに来訪いただき、NCGMバイオバンクと中央バイオバンクの見学をしていただきました。
On Thursday, April 11, Dr. Landry, President and CEO of Genome Québec in Quebec, Canada, came to visit NCBN. This time, they visited NCGM, where the Central Biobank secretariat is located, and toured the NCGM Biobank and the Central Biobank.

最初にNCGMのバイオバンクを見学していただきました。NCGMバイオバンクの鈴木マネージャーから収集している試料と保管方法について説明をいただきました。
First, they toured the NCGM biobank. NCGM Biobank Suzuki explained about the samples collected at the NCGM Biobank and how they are stored.


中央バイオバンク事務局の会議室にて中央バイオバンク長の徳永先生とDr.LandryとでNCBNと日本におけるがん、難病疾患のゲノム解析の現状やバイオバンクのネットワークについてなど意見交換をさせていただきました。
At the Central Biobank secretariat, Dr. Tokunaga, Director of the Central Biobank, and Dr. Landry exchanged views on the current status of genome analysis of cancer and intractable diseases in Japan, among others.

余談になりますが、カナダのケベック州の州都であるケベックシティの旧市街は、世界遺産に登録されている街だそうです。Webで検索するだけでも素敵な風景の写真が見れます。ぜひ一生に一度は行ってみたい場所ですね。
As a side note, the old town of Quebec City, the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec, is a World Heritage site. You can see pictures of the wonderful scenery just by searching on the Web. I would definitely like to visit this place at least once in my lifetime.
