NCBN Personal information protection Policy

  1. The National Center Biobank Network (NCBN) has implemented the following activities to protect and handle information of individuals and companies (senders) who make inquiries.
    • NCBN handles information in accordance with the Japanese Personal Information Protection Act.
    • NCBN uses the sender's personal information (information that can identify an individual or company) only for answering, contacting, and identifying inquiries.
    • Within the scope of the foregoing, information received is shared by the 6 NCBN National Centers (National Cancer Center (NCC), National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center (NCVC), National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NCNP), National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM), National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD), and National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology (NCGG)).
    • NCBN aggregates information based on inquiries other than personal information and uses it as statistical data for future biological sample collection and sample provision.
    • NCBN does not provide this information to third parties without obtaining the sender's consent, unless it is based on the law regarding personal information acquired.
