NCBN Personal information protection Policy

  1. The National Center Biobank Network (NCBN) has implemented the following activities to protect and handle information of individuals and companies (senders) who make inquiries.
    • NCBN handles information in accordance with the Japanese Personal Information Protection Act.
    • NCBN uses the sender's personal information (information that can identify an individual or company) only for answering, contacting, and identifying inquiries.
    • Within the scope of the foregoing, information received is shared by the 6 NCBN National Centers (National Cancer Center (NCC), National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center (NCVC), National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NCNP), Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS/NCGM), National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD), and National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology (NCGG)).
    • NCBN aggregates information based on inquiries other than personal information and uses it as statistical data for future biological sample collection and sample provision.
    • NCBN does not provide this information to third parties without obtaining the sender's consent, unless it is based on the law regarding personal information acquired.
