Overview of public information

Each of the six National Centers in Japan has a biobank that utilizes the expertise of each NC (oncology, cardiovascular disease, psychiatric and neurological diseases, infectious and metabolic diseases and immune disorders, pediatric and obstetric diseases, and geriatric diseases).
Detailed clinical information on the major diseases for which each NC is responsible and examined by specialists, as well as patient-derived tissues, such as those collected during routine medical examinations, blood sampling, and surgery, can be provided to researchers and companies as high-quality research resources that form the basis for research into disease etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment.

Since it is difficult to ask all NC biobanks for samples and information, we have made it possible to search across six NC biobanks for what kind of samples they have.
We have collected the common information listed in the table below as catalog data from each NC biobank and published a database (NCBN Catalog Databases) for searching.

In the NCBN catalog database, medical information such as what kind of treatment, tests, etc. are provided by each NC for each disease is disclosed as metadata. (Publication of additional medical information)
